The Friendly Stranger Dalton Henson, an athletic but emotionally disturbed youth living in a small central Florida town, suddenly becomes sexually attracted to prepubescent boys. The protagonist of Dalton's novel is an emotionally troubled boy, Flip Menshaw, whom Dalton conceived to be himself. Although Dalton set out to write a brief, realistic story about an emotionally troubled boy, it soon morphed into a lengthy bitterly satirical fantasy.
