Manufacturing & Distribution USA covers three industrial sectors, in detail: (1) Manufacturing, (2) Wholesale Trade and (3) Retail Trade. Together these sectors represented 24 percent of the U.S. economy in terms of GDP and 24 percent of nonfarm employment in 2015. They have also been recovering more quickly from the last recession than the rest of the economy. Between 2009â??the trough year of the most recent recessionâ??and 2015, the MDUSA industries were up 27 percent while all other sectors were up 24 percent. This is a change worth watching.
