Discussions about the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI), whether philosophical or popular, tend to view artificial intelligence asdistinct from, and potentially as a threat to, human intelligence. What has been less examined are the potential applications forAI in assisting the human decisionmaking process on international financial, political, and military issues. Discussions aboutthese issues generally are highly technical discussions among computer engineers and AI scientiststhe substance of whichis inaccessible to non-expert communities, including business leaders, policymakers, and the majority of the public. It is theintention of this project to produce a report that bridges the gap between the technical and policy sectors to examine how AIcan contribute to different aspects of security policy.
